Juul, which in 2017 was the largest e-cigarette company in the US, submitted its application for the PMTA in July this year, 2020.
The Vast majority of the vape shop owners and manufacturers see themselves caught in a crossfire because of the lengthy and costly applications process. No average business will be able to afford the application as it is above anyone persons' budget. The feeling of the industry’s end seems to be approaching for more and more stores across the USA. Along with Covid, the closure caused many stores not to survive and pack up shop.
The vape industry is the most attacked industry in the USA. There is not another industry that is valid which is criticized more than vape. The big pharma are the only ones who would be able to afford these applications. It’s no wonder that big pharma was also the ones who created the list of requirements that you would need for the PMTA Process. There is only a small number of around 13,000 stores that sell vape products now. But slowly there are dwindling to even less, leaving many big distributions and wholesalers with products.
